APPOINTMENTS
Appointment System
Appointments can be made up to 28 days in advance. Feedback from our patient group is that online access 24/7 in combination with traditional option of booking an appointment with reception allows patients to choose their preferred methods of accessing health services.
Routine appointments are from 8:00am – 6:30pm Monday - Friday.
We also offer online triage using Accurx eConsult* which offers options for accessing health services as well as triaging urgency and giving online patient information.
Emergency patients are seen during or at the end of surgery at the doctor’s discretion.
Please note children under five years old and babies with an emergency health condition can be seen without appointment. However please be prepared to wait your turn.
A reminder message for each appointment will be sent automatically to the registered mobile number by SMS or MyGPApp.
If you are likely to be late for your appointment please let our reception team know. We will try to accommodate, i.e. rearrange the appointment if there is a cancellation or in cases where another patient has arrived early the doctor can reorganise their clinic to run to time.
Please note if the is no additional availability and you arrive late you may be asked to re-book for another time.
Please inform the surgery of any change of address or telephone number as soon as possible.
Online and Telephone Advice
The practice operates a triage system for emergency appointments. This means that if you require to be seen on the same day with something you feel is urgent you can complete the Accurx eConsult* assessment or ring the receptionist and you will be asked to leave your telephone number in order for either a nurse practitioner or doctor to call you back. They may either be able to deal with the problem over the phone or if they feel they need to see you, will give you an appointment that day.
Home Visits
Home visits are available on request for patients who are housebound, terminally ill or too ill to come to the surgery. All requests for home visits will be assessed by a doctor.
At home the doctor will only have limited equipment and it is often difficult to perform a full assessment of your symptoms. It is therefore essential that if it is at all possible that you attend the Surgery to see the doctor.
If you do need a home visit, call 020 3474 6899. Please be prepared to give some details about the reason for the home visit so that we can deal with your enquiry more efficiently.
Please make requests before 10.30am where possible.
*Accurx eConsult will give initial suggestions for management assess and send an email to the reception team stating how urgently the consultation should occur (with your clinical information kept for the doctor to review). The reception team / doctor on call will ring you back with advice or an appointment. Please note the app will give contact details of local services if appropriate.
